Speed turtle Gen 2
Mengie finds some kewl things around the yard. This is one of those finds!. It’s got to be the smallest turtle I have ever seen.

I’ve added back some old UT99 maps. You will find the link to the files in the menu on the right ->
Fall is coming but there are still some warm days to be had. This little snake was enjoying a sun bath in the yard and put up with posing for the camera.
I caught one bolt of lightning from a storm 40 miles away. During the exposure an aircraft was flying by right in front of the cloud band…hence the line of dots. This was a 30 second exposure and there are 29 light dots. I also captured the stars overhead and the glow from Fort Walton just west of me.
This is a first. I’ve never seen a racoon out during the day. TBH, I’ve never seen a raccoon on the property before. I would have missed this one except when I got home Mengie was starring at my cedar and when I looked to see what had her attention I saw this fella. As soon as I walked in the house he came down to check me out.
Summer is here and we are getting our regular little thunder-boomers that spring up just north of the coast and roll over at sunset. The best lightning was happening while it was still light but I caught a few before the storm blew to far into the gulf. More pics after the jump…
I do business with the Navarre Pier every week. I’m out there several times a week (if nothing else it’s to get some of Ms. Pat’s yummy breakfast). But I never noticed just how visible the pier was from the house. Maybe it had to do with the evening sun and the pier being backlit. either way it’s pretty cool to see.
I just looked out my front window and witnessed a horrible crash! The crash appeared to me to play out in slow motion. I grabbed my camera, let the cat in and made a fresh cup of coffee then rushed out the door to witness the crash still evolving. Thankfully there were no casualties and sometime after I got bored the collision came to an end.
You tell me! It’s 45 degrees outside and they both have been here on the couch for hours.
